St Elizabeths was built in the Baroque period but without a lot of the elaborate and highly detailed features you might expect from that era. The Russian empress Elizabeth donated 8000 roubles for its construction.  The impressive carved wood pulpit, altar and altarpiece were added in the 1800s.
